2007 BIENNIAL MEETING
St. Martin’s Abbey and
St. Placid's Priory
hosted the meeting on the campus of
the +++++ Theme: The Charism of Benedictine Leadership We tried something new in 2007 by having two main presenters who were with us for three full days of study and reflection on this important topic as it applies to leadership with and among our oblate communities. We believe this afforded us quality time for listening, learning, reflecting and responding in an atmosphere of comradeship that sparked renewal and refreshment. Presenters:
Abbot Peter’s presentations included talks titled: Exploring some models of Leadership, Leadership in the Rule of Benedict and Responding to Leadership according to the Rule.
Sr. Jacquelyn presented at the 2005 NAABOD conference and returned at the recommendation of those who heard her in the past. We appreciated her sharing the wisdom she has gained from her life experience as a follower and leader of the Rule of Benedict. Sr. Jacquelyn’s presentations included talks titled: Qualities of Leadership--Active Listening, Qualities of Leadership--Discernment and Qualities of Leadership--Humility.
